On Granite Rocks

I want to exist

Right now

In a place where you can’t tell

Where the ocean meets the sky,

Where my rocking chair

Rolls to the sound of the waves,

Where I can run barefoot

And let the rocks turn my feet rough,

Where I can shampoo my hair

With salt water, let the knots sort themselves out,

Where friendship transcends decades

Even centuries.

Where I can fall in love with life

And music and creatures in the night sky.

This is where I want to be.
